Orvis commits 5% of pre-tax profits to protecting nature.
Orvis gives in three ways to protect nature, support communities, and advance canine health and well-being.
ORVIS CUSTOMER MATCHING GRANTS
Our largest grants are Customer Matching Grants, whereby Orvis commits a substantial matching fund for donations solicited from our customers through promotions in our catalogues, stores, websites, social media, emails, and publicity campaigns. These grants offer the additional benefit of bringing strong publicity and endorsement to the project, the value of which often far exceeds the actual funds raised. With the partnering organisation’s cooperation, we sometimes secure additional matching funds from other organisations.
In addition to the company’s matching grants, Orvis donates smaller grants to a wide variety of conservation organisations upon request. Such partners have included The Nature Conservancy, American Rivers, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership, The Conservation Fund, Atlantic Salmon Federation, Bonefish-Tarpon Trust, Ducks Unlimited, Ruffed Grouse Society, Rare Conservation, Project Healing Waters, Casting for Recovery, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation and others. For a complete list, see our Partner Page. If you would like to request support for your organisation that would benefit the goals expressed in our mission statement above, send an email inquiry to PR@orvis.com..
In addition to grants focused on protecting nature worldwide, Orvis does reserve a portion of its annual giving to support organisations vital to the communities in which we operate and where our associates live.
